Large-Scale Ceramic Vase attributed to Zaccagnini Italy c. 1945
Large-scale earthenware vase with striated vertical lines incised into the glaze surface. Applied leaf forms sit on top of the surface throughout. Signiture on the underside, probably by the retailer and not the artist.
Monumental Vase by Giovanni Gariboldi for Richard Ginori Italy c. 1934
Fantastic over-scaled porcelain vase with large indent and textured relief of doves on branches. Glazes in glossy pale green and white. This was created during the period when Gariboldi was the design director of Ginori. Published: Innen Dekoration #9, 1936. This vase is shown in Gio Ponti’s room at the 1936 Triennale in Milan. Hand-built Sculptures by Giovanni Barbera Italy 1930
Studio-built, earthenware sculptures depicting a young man & woman. Roughly textured and beautifully stylized. Signed and dated by the artist. Barbera lived and worked in Palermo and was very active in the anti-fascist artist movement in Sicily. Each sculpture is signed "Barbera XI." Very good condition, with some chips and nicks to surface. Also, discoloration and one visible repair.
Tessere Ambra Vase by Barovier & Toso Italy 1957/ c. 1974
Beautiful, hand-blown glass vase of deep amethyst and amber colors formed to resemble woven material. Slender oval shape. Etched signature to underside that was typically used throughout the 1970's.
