Dena A. Zemsky, painter, ceramist, photographer, designer

Dena Zemsky, a native of New York City, is a self-taught ceramist that has been working in clay for the past ten years.  The ceramic works of Dena Zemsky are one-of-a kind pieces with attention to surface detail of paramount concern.  These vessels are hand built from chocolate and red stoneware, many with sprigged appliqué and cutouts.  The patina is achieved by layering multiple high fire glazes with subtle, wax resist, smudging, blowing and wipe offs.
