“Generation,” Sculptural Table by Philip & Kelvin LaVerne USA c. 1964
One of only two examples ever made of this table. An extraordinary sculptural creation, exploring several of the techniques the LaVerne’s were known to employ. Two cast bronze figures, connected at bottom and mid point by abstract-formed bronze base and table top. The cast elements were done with a lost wax method. Both flat plains have beautiful torched surfaces. Extraordinary, handmade abstract bronze form with overall textured surface. This particular treatment was created by meticulously dripping solder over the surface of the piece, a technique that was rarely ever used by the LaVernes. This is one of the best examples of their work we have ever seen come onto the market. Wave Crest illustrates the strength of the LaVernes' prowess as studio sculptors. Signed on base. "Caori," Cocktail Table by Vico Magistretti Italy c. 1968
Produced by Gavina, this great table rests on a central pedestal, and has black lacquered wood and brushed stainless steel. Top center lifts up to reveal central storage and there is additional storage on all four sides. Very stylish and practical piece. h. 15.75" w. 50" d. 37.75"
Good condition. Lacquered wood is in excellent condition. Stainless top shows dings and wear.

Slab crystal top with irregular, chipped edges. Verre églomisé decoration with a primitive motif. Dark mahogany legs, carved in a reverse taper. Etched signature in the glass. These tables were only in production for a few years and were rarely made with wood bases. h. 14.75" w. 49.5" d. 20"
